Not Sold Description
Prooflike BU 1825 Quarter Eagle
1825 $2 1/2 MS 61 Prooflike ANACS. The 1825 surpasses the 1824/1 as the most available Capped Head Left quarter eagle. There are, however, no more than 90 extant representatives from the paltry original mintage of 4,434 pieces. Since the majority of these survivors fall into the XF category, the present Mint State coin should be considered an important find among early gold specialists. The fields are bright and both sides show rich green-gold color. The strike is razor sharp throughout and the overall definition is well above par for this otherwise poorly produced issue. There are no individually mentionable distractions.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25FG, PCGS# 7664, GSID# 8221)
Metal: 91.67% Gold, 8.33% Copper
Weight: 4.37 grams
AGW: 0.1288oz
Mintage: 4,434
