Description

1831 AU 58 PCGS. A lightly circulated example of this rare Capped Bust quarter eagle. The fields are prooflike, as invariably seen, and the surfaces have taken on a deep reddish patina toward the rims. Well struck throughout with the only noticeable softness observed at the juncture of the eagle's breast and the left side of the shield. There are a couple of mentionable contact marks on the reverse.
