1832 $2 1/2 XF40 PCGS. Breen-6135, BD-1, R.4. The only dies for this rare date. Luster glints from the design recesses, and the yellow-gold surfaces are surprisingly smooth save for a few tiny roundish marks near the mouth. Problem-free XF examples are very rare, although lightly circulated impaired pieces show up at Heritage auctions about twice per year. Population: 5 in 40, 44 finer (11/07).(Registry values: P5)
