Description

1796 B-1 Quarter, AG3
Affordable Example of America's First Quarter

1796 25C B-1, R.4, AG3 PCGS. Light-gray surfaces deepen slightly as the periphery nears, and the central reverse contains some parallel deeper regions. The dentils are present on the left half of the obverse, although wear encroaches on the design significantly more on the reverse. Just 6,146 examples of America's first quarter were produced. While survival was significantly higher than most coins of the time, at about 10%, demand still significantly outstrips supply, making this a great opportunity to obtain an affordable example. Among the 100 Greatest U.S. Coins.
From The Bob Hastings Collection.
