    1804 Quarter Dollar, B-1, VG8
    Attractive Color and Surfaces

    1804 25C B-1, R.3, VG8 PCGS. Tompkins Die State 1/1, with no visible clashing on either side. This attractive circulation cameo displays deep smoke-gray fields and lighter tan-gray relief elements. Liberty's eye remains visible, and on the reverse RIBUS UNUM is visible on the ribbon. The obverse rim is sharp, but the reverse is slightly incomplete from 2 to 7 o'clock. No bothersome abrasions are seen. The 1804 is a key date in the Draped Bust type. This was the first quarter dollar struck since 1796, and only 6,738 pieces were produced.
