Description

Rare Fine 1804 Quarter, B-1

1804 25C Fine 12 PCGS. B-1, R.4. The mintage and rarity of the 1804 is similar to that of the more heralded 1796, and the 1804 is clearly rarer in Mint State. Yet the 1804 trades at much lower levels, probably because it is more available as a type due to the comparatively plentiful 1805 to 1807 dates. A subdued slate-gray example with a few trivial adjustment marks near the clouds and a single faded mark near the forehead curl.(Registry values: P7)
