Description

Attractive Very Fine 1804 Quarter, B-1

1804 25C VF20 PCGS. CAC. B-1, R.3. The die scratch between stars 8 and 9 immediately attributes the B-1, one of only two die pairings for this low-mintage year. While the B-1 is considered very scarce, the B-2 is rare. This is an extremely attractive Very Fine example with slightly lighter high points and generous dollops of mint-green and ocean-blue over most of each side. The reverse has a similar palette, a bit more evenly distributed. Most of the deep detail remains on this coin, with full rims and a well-centered planchet, void of singular abrasions on either side. A wonderful acquisition of this low-mintage issue for first-year type collectors. Population: 13 in 20, 45 finer (9/09).(Registry values: P7)
