Description

1806 B-10 Quarter, AU Details
Tough R.5 Marriage; Rarer in AU

1806 25C B-10, R.5 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Pleasing gunmetal-blue and steel-gray patina is highlighted with splashes of sage and sunrise-yellow. NGC notes an improper cleaning, but that must have occurred long ago. Well-centered with few abrasions, minimal hairlines, and crisp detail. The B-10 is one of the rarest die pairs for the date, and Tompkins notes that it "is much more rare if found in AU or above condition." This is an early die state without die cracks or crumbling near the rims.
