Description

1806/5 B-1 Quarter Dollar, MS63
Conditionally Rare
Guide Book Overdate

1806/5 25C B-1, R.2, MS63 PCGS Secure. Tompkins Die State 2/3. Both dies are clashed, and a crack is visible along the top of the UNI in UNITED. B-1 is the only overdate variety for this issue, a Guide Book-listed variety that is in high demand in all grades. This is a high-visibility overdate, seen by the unaided eye. On the reverse, the C. in the denomination crowds into the eagle's tailfeathers. Mint State examples of the variety are rarely offered, mainly scattered throughout the MS61 to MS64 grade range. This Select coin is well-struck in the centers and only mildly weak on the border stars. A hint of champagne toning graces the satiny surfaces, which show only a few light abrasions. Population: 3 in 63, 8 finer (1/18).
