Description
1806/5 B-1 Quarter, VF30
Problem-Free Guide Book Variety
1806/5 25C B-1, R.2, VF30 PCGS. CAC. Tompkins Die State 2/3.
The 1805 Browning-4 dies were reused -- both obverse and reverse --
to strike the overdated 1806 Browning-1 quarters. As a result,
inherited die wear makes the variety look less-sharp than any
actual wear entails. This is an original and attractive VF example
with grayish-gold toning that lightens at the centers to
silver-gray. Few marks exist, and the motifs are sharply defined
for the well-used state of the dies. CAC-endorsed, housed in a
previous generation green label holder. Population: 20 in 30, 73
finer. CAC: 3 in 30, 20 finer (9/17).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23RE, Variety PCGS# 38938, Base PCGS# 5315, Greysheet# 212680)
Weight: 6.74 grams
Metal: 89.24% Silver, 10.76% Copper
