Description

1807 B-1 Quarter Dollar, AU55
Attractive Draped Bust Coin

1807 25C B-1, R.2, AU55 PCGS. Ex: Indiana Collection. Tompkins Die State 2, reverse clashed. There are two varieties of the 1807 Draped quarter dollar, and either would serve well for type purposes. This Choice AU B-1 coin is upper-end for what is typically seen in the market place, and finer examples are seldom offered. The strike is weak on the peripheral stars and those above the eagle, although the eagle itself and Liberty's portrait are well-defined. Satiny surfaces have uniform champagne toning that cedes to greenish-blue at the borders.
