Description

1807 Quarter, B-1, AU58+
Bright, Lustrous Type Coin

1807 25C B-1, R.2, AU58+ PCGS. The 1807 is one of the more often seen Draped Bust quarter issues, popular among type collectors, but its availability, as with all issues in this early series, declines significantly in the upper AU and Mint State grades. This outstanding piece exhibits just a whisper of friction over the high points of the design, with substantial luster highlighting the bright, silvery surfaces. The border dentils are incomplete around the upper obverse periphery, but the strike is otherwise well-executed. Population: 14 in 58 (1 in 58+), 36 finer (4/15).
