Description

1807 B-2 Quarter, MS61
Gloriously Colorful Example

1807 25C B-2, R.3, MS61 NGC. Tompkins Die State 3/3. Champagne-peach and gray-brown dominate the centers of both sides, where the reverse adds in splashes of rose. The periphery of both sides contains significant steel-blue highlights, and the reverse adds hints of citrus around AMERICA. Two die marriages exist for this final year of the Draped Bust quarter, of which the B-2 was likely struck first. Significant die cracks abound on both sides, but more had yet to form at the time this superlative survivor was struck.
