Description

1972 Type One Dollar, MS66
Major Rarity in High Grade

1972 $1 Type One MS66 PCGS. Ex: Sonoran Monsoon. This Type One dollar shows the Earth in low-relief with three distinct islands. Type One coins are more available than their scarce Type Two counterparts, but such a description hardly seems appropriate for examples as well-preserved as this Premium Gem. In fact, there are only four such submissions at the leading grading services, all in PCGS holders, with none finer (11/15). Glints of light golden patina appear over brilliant, frosty surfaces that display unimportant flecks and grazes. Worth a premium bid.
