    1976-D Type One Dollar, MS67
    Unimprovable Registry Contender

1976-D $1 Type One MS67 PCGS. Ex: Sonoran Monsoon. Bold, low-relief lettering on the reverse identifies the Type One design, of which examples are decidedly scarcer than the Type Two. In MS67, the 1976-D Type One dollar is very rare, this being just the fourth time we have offered such a coin since the establishment of our Permanent Auction Archives. The only MS67 PCGS coin we have handled realized $11,163 in our April 2015 Central States Signature sale, and we would not be surprised to see this fabulous Superb Gem break that record. Coruscating mint luster and a pinpoint-sharp strike are two of the leading attributes of this top-graded example. Each side is brilliant with attractive splashes of pale champagne-gold toning. An unimprovable representative destined for a top Registry Set. Population: 7 in 67, 0 finer (10/15).
