Description

Republic gold 10 Pesos 1892-C.A.M. MS61 NGC, San Salvador mint, KM118, Fr-2. Tied with just one other representative for highest graded by NGC, with no examples in Mint State certified by PCGS. Just 321 pieces of this type were struck in 1892, production limited to this one year rendering the issue highly popular with collectors of the Latin American series. Lustrous, its gleam bordering on prooflike through its reflectivity and lack of satin texture, and immensely sharply struck with rich honey-gold color. Only some scattered bagmarks and a light scratch to the cheek prevent this piece from climbing to an even greater height of certification. A superb piece of unparalleled quality.
