Italian Colony. Umberto I 5 Lire (Tallero) 1896 MS64 NGC, KM4. This stellar type representative immediately conveys the utmost degree of quality, even upon a glance, with its universally needle-sharp detail and glassy fields layered in a luxurious silver patina. These themselves reveal very little disturbance save for a fine array of lines, as-struck, implying the use of recently polished dies in the striking process.
