    Description

Italian Colony. Umberto I Proof 5 Lire (Tallero) 1891 PR63 NGC, Rome mint, KM4, Dav-27, Mont-80. A type that proves highly elusive in this Proof format. Fully struck, with argent reflectivity resides across the surfaces, which emit a bright mint "flash" when rotated under light. Soft touches of copper tone emerge at the peripheries, providing an element of color contrast to otherwise bright white features. Only minor hairlines are traceable in the fields, the offering otherwise virtually free of marks or distractions.
