Lincoln Cent Struck Over a 1945-S
Netherlands East Indies Tenth Gulden, AU58
(1945-S) Lincoln Cent -- Overstruck on a Netherlands East Indies
1/10 Gulden -- AU58 NGC. 1.2 gm. A tenth gulden (KM-318) is 720
Fine silver and 15 mm. Struck at San Francisco in 1945 due to World
War II. The S mint mark of the undertype is visible on the N in ONE
of the overstrike, and the lower curve of the 5 in the undertype
date is visible within the E. The cent date and mintmark is almost
certainly 1945-S, though the 45 and mintmark are off the flan. The
silver-gray surfaces are unabraded and satiny.From The Geyer Family Collection.
