Silver Kennedy Half Dollar
Reverse Die Cap, MS63
(1964) Kennedy Half--Reverse Die Cap, Obverse Obliterated--MS63
PCGS. No date visible, though the combination of a 90% silver
planchet and the lack of a mintmark on the hyper-sharp reverse
fixes the coin as a 1964. This piece adhered to the reverse die and
sustained multiple blows from the dies, at least one an irregular
strike that left a depression on the obverse and caused the whole
piece to bend or bow out. Not an especially deep die cap, but an
intriguing one with a prominent "lip" at the upper obverse.
