1793 Wreath Cent Error--The Obverse Half of a Split Planchet1793 1C Wreath Cent--Vine and Bars--Obverse Half of a Split Planchet--Good 6 NGC. Obverse 9. This uniface impression is struck on a very thin copper planchet, weighing only about 80 grains. The reverse shows a slightly incused impression of the figure of Liberty from the obverse, but it is faint. The surfaces are porous and there are several ancient scratches on the reverse. Apparently what happened was the planchet split in two, and our assumption is this happened after striking. Deep brown patina over each side.
