Description
Choice Mint State 1834 Broken Die Dime
1834 10C Capped Bust dime--Obverse Die Break--Large 4 MS64 NGC. JR-5, R.1. This is an extremely important offering for the early United States dime specialist as well as the error collector. The obverse has a massive cud or rim break from the bottoms of 834 to the border, filling the entire space between. This is without a doubt the terminal die state for the variety. This is a sensational example from the aesthetic perspective as well, with fully original heather and iridescent color, and reflective fields. Very sharply struck throughout, with the exception of the upper reverse, which is exactly opposite the obverse rim break.(#4525) (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 237E, PCGS# 4525, GSID# 4006)
