Off Center 1865 Three Cent Nickel Error
1865 3CN Three Cent Nickel--Struck 5% Off Center--AU53 PCGS. A relatively common error on other, more modern types, we have not seen many Three Cent Nickels that were struck off center. Sharply impressed with bold clashmarks (as produced) in the fields, the surfaces are tinged in golden-gray shades. A moderate scrape is seen on the obverse at the TE in STATES. Struck off center at just past 6 o'clock.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22NJ, PCGS# 3731, GSID# 2767)
