1872 5C Shield Nickel--Weakly Struck Date--MS64 PCGS. Crisply struck except for the date, which is nearly indecipherable due to a filled die in the vicinity. This lustrous and carefully preserved near-Gem has original pale apricot and silver-gray patina. A scarcer issue in better Mint State grades.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22P6, PCGS# 3799, GSID# 2875)
