1877-S Trade Dollar, Near-Mint
Broadstruck
1877-S T$1 Trade Dollar -- Broadstruck -- AU58 NGC. Large S.
Struck without a collar die, this centered broadstrike Trade dollar
has a diameter of 39 mm, about one mm above standard width. The
rims are broad and somewhat irregular, and the dentils and reverse
peripheral legends have a stretched appearance. The breast feathers
show light wear, but the deep gunmetal-gray and golden-brown
surfaces are minimally marked.
