Description
Off Center 1879-S Dollar
1879-S Dollar--15% Off Center at 5:30--MS 61 Prooflike NGC. A spectacular error that shows significant extra flan at the top of the obverse and bottom of the reverse, while at the same time retaining the top half of the digits in the date. Fully struck in all areas and bright throughout with flashy prooflike fields. There is just the slightest hint of color present over the otherwise brilliant surfaces. Dollars with any type of error are quite rare and always eagerly sought out by collectors.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 253X, PCGS# 7092, GSID# 7456)
