Near-Gem 1891 Nickel Struck 10% Off Center
1891 5C Nickel--Struck 10% Off Center--MS64 PCGS. Struck off center at 7 o'clock. STATES is close to the edge but complete, while the bottom portion of the 18 in the date is off the flan. A lustrous and well struck near-Gem with attractive pearl-gray patina and impressively preserved surfaces. While off center Liberty Nickels are not excessively rare, it is certainly unusual to encounter an example with the quality of the present coin.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2776, PCGS# 3852, GSID# 2956)
