Rarely Encountered Die Capped Barber Dime
Undated 10C Barber Dime--Reverse Die Cap, Brockage Obverse--AU55 PCGS. Major errors on Barber silver coinage are quite elusive. This reverse capped die is no exception. It is a spectacular multiple strike with the design incused and spread out. The edges are very high as it capped the die and continued to spread during striking. There are only a handful of Barber Dime caps in the entire series. Deep gray toning covers most of each side.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23DK, PCGS# 4796, GSID# 4321)
