Description
1895 Liberty Nickel, MS62
Double Struck
1895 5C Liberty Nickel -- Multistruck -- MS62 NGC.
Designated on the NGC insert as multistruck, but we believe the
present coin is double struck. The first strike was normal. The
second strike was approximately 20% off center toward 12 o'clock,
at 12:30 relative to the first strike. No planchet was fed between
the two strikes. Both dates are bold and complete. CENTS is faint
from the first strike and absent from the second strike. The bust
tip and star 6 from the first strike are evident on Liberty's
forehead from the second strike. Lightly toned in tan hues with a
few tiny gray spots on the reverse.
