Description
1898 Morgan, Struck 5% Off-Center
Lustrous Mint Error Piece, MS64
1898 $1 -- Struck 5% Off-Center -- MS64 PCGS. Morgan dollars
with any type of Mint error are uncommon and most are limited to an
off-center strike. This Choice 1898 Morgan is one of the scarce
off-center Mint errors showing a 5% shift to the right. The date
and all the motifs remain intact save for the furthest right
obverse denticles which fall off the coin and the opposing
right-side dentils are barely seen on the reverse. Mostly brilliant
fields and frosted devices display light lilac-gray hues on both
sides. A few trivial grade-consistent marks are noted and aside
from the off-center strike, the devices are sharply struck.
