Description
Broadstruck and Double Struck
XF 1903 Barber Dime
1903 10C Barber Dime--Broadstruck, Double Struck--XF40
ANACS. The first strike was apparently normal, but the dime
remained in the coinage chamber and was struck a second time. The
collar die was impeded during the second strike, probably by the
coin itself. Evidence of the first strike is limited to the
right-side rims. The broadstrike is uncentered with an arc of
single-struck metal widest at 3:30.
