Description
Uncentered Broadstrike on a
Gem 1916-S Barber Dime
1916-S 10C Barber Dime MS65 NGC. At first glance, the
present piece appears to have been struck off center toward 9
o'clock. However, no design details are absent, which indicates
that the wide unstruck portion centered at 3 o'clock was caused by
the absence of a collar die. Intricately struck and lustrous with a
lightly toned obverse and medium apple-green and fire-red patina on
the reverse.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2009), lot 2270, which realized $1,150.
