    Laminated 1917-S Buffalo Nickel

1917-S 5C Buffalo Nickel--Laminated Planchet Reverse--MS64 PCGS. This is at once an important error and an unfortunate situation, for this coin would actually be worth more without the error. On the other hand, this will represent an excellent opportunity for the Buffalo Nickel collector to acquire a high-grade example of the issue. Both sides are very sharply struck for a 1917-S Buffalo Nickel, and the surfaces have splendid pale gold toning. The reverse has a vertical strip of planchet lamination with partially detached metal, and this is located across the bison's hind quarter.(#3936) (Registry values: N1793)
