Description
Surprising 1918 Walking Liberty Half
Gem Struck 10% Off-Center
1918 Walking Liberty Half Dollar -- Struck 10% Off-Center --
MS65 PCGS. Ex: Sounder. An amazing half dollar error that is
struck at least 10% off-center toward 11 o'clock. As with many
off-center impressions, the details are strong in places, most
notably on Liberty's thumb (not only fully outlined but rounded).
Satiny luster is strong with gold and heather elements prominent.
Even if this piece were not an error, as a Gem representative of
the 1918 Walking Liberty half dollar it would be conditionally
scarce, and finer coins are condition rarities; PCGS has certified
just eight examples as MS66 or better (2/13).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2008), lot 1653.
