1919 Lincoln Cent, XF40
Triple Struck, Third Strike Off Center
1919 1C Lincoln Cent -- Triple Struck, Third Strike Off Center
-- XF40 NGC. Although designated as "Double Struck, 2nd Strike
Off Center" by NGC, the present 1919 Lincoln cent is in fact triple
struck, and it is the third strike that is off center. The first
strike was normal, and the second strike was rotated a few degrees
from the first strike, as seen on E PLURIBUS UNUM. The third strike
was approximately 25% off center toward 12 o'clock, at 1 o'clock
