    1920-Dated Buffalo Nickel on a
    Cent Planchet, MS61 Brown

1920-? 5C Buffalo Nickel -- Struck on a Cent Planchet -- MS61 Brown PCGS. A glossy olive-green and mahogany-brown off-metal error on a popular obsolete type. LIBERTY and the mintmark area are off the flan, but the portrait is intact, as is the bison aside from its tail and back leg. Our auction archives show ten prior appearances of 1920-dated nickels on cent blanks or planchets. An MS61 Brown NGC 1920 nickel on cent planchet error brought $3,760 in our June 2016 Long Beach Signature.
