Description
Very Rare Partial Brockage 1920-S Standing Liberty Quarter
1920-S Quarter--Partial Brockage--AU 50 PVC. An exceptionally rare error in the Standing Liberty quarter series. In fact, all SLQ errors are rare, and partial brockages are also rare, making this a "double dipper" for error specialists. A partial brockage is created when a previously struck coin falls on the next incoming blank in the collar. After striking, an incuse image of the previously struck coin is overlaid on a portion of the second coin. On this piece, approximately 10% of the brockage overlays the top of the second coin, leaving portions of the letters of AMERIC within the brockage. Untoned with a thin haze of PVC evident.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 9453)
