Description

Desirable Error 1921 Morgan Dollar With a Sizeable Reverse Lamination

1921 $1 Morgan Dollar--Reverse Lamination--MS62 NGC. A visually impressive and important error, there is a sizeable lamination on the reverse over the lower halves of the eagle's right (facing) wing and body. The size and extent of the lamination leaves us in awe as to how it remained attached to the coin for so many years. Both sides are untoned with silver-white features and scattered obverse abrasions that seem to explain the MS62 designation. All features (even those over the lamination) are well struck, and a few swirls of haziness near the left reverse border are noted solely for accuracy. This coin belongs in an advanced collection of U.S. Mint errors.
