1923 Peace Dollar, MS64
Die Set-Up Strike
1923 $1 Peace Dollar -- Die Set-Up Strike -- MS64 PCGS. The
centers and peripheries exhibit a very soft strike. Selected
portions of the design, such as Liberty's face and DOLLAR, show a
normal strike. The edge is not visible within the Generation 4.4
PCGS holder, but our consignor informs us that the edge has weak
reeding. Unusually soft strikes occur when the dies are placed too
far apart, or when the press provides less pressure than
anticipated, such as when it is just started or about to stop.
