    Description

    1924 Double Eagle, MS65
    Struck-Through Reverse

1924 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle -- Struck-Thru Reverse -- MS65 PCGS. The eagle's breast and upper leg are indistinct and recessed, where the coin was struck through a lump of debris. Many U.S. gold coins exhibit small strike-throughs, especially antebellum branch mint pieces, but large strike-throughs are highly unusual. This lustrous green-gold example is minimally abraded and would stir conversation at a club meeting.
