Description
1924 Buffalo Nickel Struck on
Lincoln Cent Planchet, MS64
1924 5C Buffalo Nickel--Struck on a Cent Planchet--MS64 Brown
PCGS. 3.05 gm. Because the Buffalo nickel is slightly larger
than the Lincoln cent--21.2 mm versus 19 mm--the edges of the
well-centered strike are off the flan, including the bison's
extreme head and tail, and the mintmark below FIVE CENTS. This coin
could technically be from any of the three mints--Philadelphia,
Denver, San Francisco--that struck both cents and nickels during
1924. Glossy chocolate surfaces with tinges of red in protected
areas.
