Description
1937-S Nickel on a Cent Planchet, AU53
1937-S Buffalo Nickel -- Struck on a Cent Planchet -- AU53 PCGS. Off-metal errors on Buffalo nickels are rare. Only two 1937-S nickels are known struck on cent planchets, and the present piece is the higher graded. Ideally centered with the date and mintmark intact, although LIBERTY and OF AMERICA are partly off the flan. The lavender-brown surfaces are slightly glossy and exhibit light wear.Ex: Robert Entlich; purchased by David Lawrence Rare Coins and Andy Lustig, who purchased the Entlich collection of Buffalo nickel errors; Stack's Bowers (3/2011), lot 627, unsold.
