    Description

    1941-Dated Walking Liberty Half, MS64
    Struck on a Quarter Planchet

1941(-?) 50C Walking Liberty Half Dollar -- Struck on a Quarter Planchet -- MS64 NGC. 6.3 gm. One of four Walkers struck on quarter dollar planchets within the Geyer Family Collection. Approximately 14 are known altogether. Off metal Walking Liberty half dollars are surprisingly rare, given the mintages for the series during the 1940s. On the present lot, the upper half of the date is retained though the mintmark area is off the flan. The smooth and lustrous surfaces are toned dusky steel-gray. Most of the legends are evident, with the exception of LIBERTY. The major devices are chiefly intact though the extremities of the eagle and Liberty are off the flan. Characteristic of off-metal errors, the peripheral legends show spreading toward the rim.
    From The Geyer Family Collection.

The staff at Heritage are amazing to work with. My wife and I were given the "red carpet treatment" from the moment we walked in. We felt safe and secure the moment we arrived.
