Description

1942-P 5C Type Two, Jefferson Nickel -- Doubled Denomination on a Struck Cent -- MS64 Brown PCGS. This war nickel was struck on a copper cent. Lincoln is nearly inverted relative to Monticello. The outline of his head is readily evident. The truncation of his coat arcs across E PLURIBUS. On the obverse, the NT from CENT is apparent on Jefferson's cheek. The chocolate-brown surfaces retain hints of brick-red. The nickel mintmark is bold. The nickel date is nearly complete and shows moderate spreading toward the edge.
