Description
1943 Cent on a Mercury Dime MS62
1943 1C Lincoln Cent--Struck on a 1943 Mercury Dime--MS62 NGC. Not everyone can afford to purchase a 1943 cent struck on a bronze planchet. But the opportunity to secure a 1943 cent struck on a 1943 Mercury dime is here, and is likely just as elusive as the more famous wrong-planchet error. On this piece, a nearly complete outline of Liberty surrounds ONE CENT, and the fasces axe is clear above Lincoln's ear. Most of the dime date is visible, although the 3 is weak. A brilliant, lustrous, and lovely error.Ex: 2003 ANA Sale (Bowers and Merena, 7/03).
