Description

1943-S Cent Struck on a Silver Dime Planchet

1943-S 1C Cent--Struck on 10C Planchet--AU58 PCGS. Since a Dime planchet was too small to completely fill the Cent dies, weakness of strike is noted on the borders and highpoints. Lincoln's coat has only light friction. Brilliant and relatively unabraded, and with most of its original luster. The magic date of 1943, famous for its rare bronze alloy errors, lends further interest to this other wrong planchet combination.
