    1943-S Cent, AU50
    on a Silver Dime Flan

1943-S 1C Lincoln Cent -- Struck on a Silver Dime Planchet -- AU50 PCGS. Few can afford to purchase a 1943-S cent on a bronze cent planchet, but a different off-metal error on the same issue is comparatively affordable. Since the color of a silver dime resembled the zinc-plated steel alloy in use during 1943, the present coin circulated briefly until someone noticed that IN GOD WE TRUST is partly off the flan. Lincoln's jaw shows light wear, and the fields display infrequent hair-thin test marks.
