Description
1944 1C Lincoln Cent--Flipover Double Struck in Collar, Two Dates--XF45 PCGS. Struck twice by the dies, with the obverse of the second strike over the reverse from the first strike. Such errors often show a partial collar, but the present piece was fully forced into the collar (despite its wider diameter) by the force of its second strike. Many design elements from the understrike are visible, including all four date digits near PLURIBUS. A smooth chocolate-brown cent with moderate wear on the portrait.Auction Info
