Description

Tilted Partial Collar on a
Gem 1945 Mercury Dime

1945 10C Mercury Dime -- Tilted Partial Collar -- MS65 PCGS. In a newfangled holder that allows examination of most of the edge. Reeding is present on about 50% of the left-side edge with the reeding near the obverse. The right-side edge appears smooth. The reverse has a broad unstruck border, as does the right obverse. Lustrous and virtually mark-free with lilac, sea-green, and cream-gray toning. The 1945 Philadelphia is famous for its rarity with full bands. Though uncertified as such, the bands are full on the present mint error.
