Description

1952-Dated Washington Quarter
Struck on a Dime Planchet, MS64
Reverse Brockage

1952(-?) 25C Washington Quarter -- Struck on a Dime Planchet, Reverse Brockage -- MS64 NGC. A remarkable double mint error. A silver dime planchet was struck between a Washington quarter obverse die and the obverse of a previously struck quarter. (That quarter was first struck normally, then struck against a fed quarter planchet, then struck against the present coin). Struck aligned with the collar at 7:30. On the obverse, the date is fully present, as is the portrait and the Motto. LIBERTY is partially absent. The reverse displays an incused, reversed, and spread image from a quarter obverse, including most of the portrait and GOD WE TRUST.
